The Facilities and Lab Operations Manager will manage and oversee day-to-day activities within the research laboratory with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include managing laboratory supplies, reagents, chemical waste disposal, equipment, and other essentials; developing laboratory guidelines, maintaining SOPs, procedures, manuals, and evaluating new equipment; managing technicians performing lab support work including preparation of lab materials, lab organization, maintenance, and inventory management; maintaining compliance with laboratory safety and regulatory operations; cultivating a high-performing safety culture; identifying and achieving annual supply/equipment savings opportunities and collaborating with purchasing to implement recommendations. Requirements include a B.S. degree in chemistry, biology or related field with lab skills, excellent organizational and communication skills, ability to work independently and in teams, 3+ years of chemistry or biotechnology wet lab experience, and demonstrated experience managing laboratory/facilities operations.
