About JAG-NM: Jobs for America's Graduates - New Mexico(JAG-NM) is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering young people with the skillsand support they need to succeed in education, employment, and life. We servemiddle school, high school, and out-of-school youth across the state through anevidence-based program model that promotes graduation, career readiness, andleadership development.
Position Overview: JAG-NM is seeking a detail-oriented,tech-savvy IT Intern to help usefficiently launch and manage over 600 student email accounts as part of ourstatewide student services platform. This temporary, part-time position isideal for a current UNM student with Federal Work-Study eligibility and aninterest in IT systems, digital operations, or user support. The intern will work closely withorganizational leadership to create, organize, and support digitalcommunication systems that connect students to opportunities and services.
Key Responsibilities: • Email Account Setup: Create and configure individual email accounts for students using Google Workspace or similar platforms. • User Access Support: Provide basic troubleshooting for login or access issues, including password resets and permission errors. • Data Security: Ensure that student information and login credentials are stored securely and managed according to privacy best practices. • Documentation & Tracking: Maintain organized logs of accounts created, credentials shared, and ongoing technical issues. • Internal Coordination: Work with JAG-NM staff to plan and execute a phased rollout of email accounts based on program schedules. • IT Support: Contribute to light IT documentation and provide input for long-term maintenance or system improvements.

Qualifications:
• Must be a current UNM student eligible for Federal Work-Study • Major in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred • Experience with email platforms (especially Gmail/Google Workspace) • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential data • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines • Familiarity with digital security best practices a plus • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills • Proficient with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar) and Zoom. • Must have access to a personal computer and cell phone.
Tools & Environment: • Google Workspace (Gmail, Sheets, Docs) • Zoom or Google Meet (for meetings and check-ins) • Intern may work remotely • Must have access to a reliable high speed internet connection and personal computer
