Overview
The Financial Data Analyst will play a pivotal role in our organization by combining data analysis skills with financial expertise. Primary responsibilities will include analyzing data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to support strategic business decisions. This role works closely with various departments to ensure data-driven planning and forecasting. Reporting to the FP&A Manager, this position is hybrid in Birmingham, Michigan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and provide relevant insights.
- Assist in the preparation and consolidation of financial reports, including Income statement, Balance sheet and Cash flow.
- Perform statistical & financial analyses to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Analyze variances between actual and forecasted financial results, identifying the causes and implications.
- Support business units to forecast future performance, including revenue, expenses, and cash flow.
- Support the creation of annual budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategies.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to the FP&A manager and VP of Finance.
- Implement and utilize AI and BI tools to enhance data analysis and reporting capabilities.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics, providing insights into business performance.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics or a related field.
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong desire to understand and implement next gen tools, particularly Artificial Intelligence.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret & organize complex data.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present data findings clearly.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other team members and departments.
- Strong desire to learn, develop and grow.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and other data analysis tools.
