AMD together we advance The Role AMD Strategic Silicon Solutions (S3) BIOS Firmware team is part of the S3 Software team and is responsible for delivering, designing, developing, and debugging BIOS System Software, UEFI Firmware, Memory Firmware for internal/external systems and platforms that use AMD APU/CPU, AMD chipsets, and third-party chipsets. You will work with global pre-silicon and post-silicon teams on BIOS/Firmware development and debugging. The Person Knowledge of ACPI, USB, PCIe, SATA, and other PC industry standards, with solid software development skills and BIOS/Firmware UEFI/EDKII development experience. Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and in a team are essential. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and debug BIOS (System Software), UEFI Firmware, VBIOS, or Memory Firmware for systems using AMD APU/CPU, AMD chipset, and third-party chipsets. Participate in daily BIOS development/debugging using PC assembly and C languages; interact with internal teams, BIOS vendors, and customers. Maintain strong system debugging skills across BIOS domains. Work with PC hardware and platform issues. Design BIOS features for AMD platforms. Develop BIOS features for new AMD platforms, sustain existing BIOS, and debug BIOS and system issues. Assist validation and debugging engineers with system and silicon issues. Provide consultation on AMD features and programming requirements to internal and external customers. Preferred Experience BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field, with 5+ to 7+ years of experience in BIOS, firmware, or system software development. Strong knowledge of ACPI, USB, PCIe, SATA, and PC industry standards. Proficiency in x86 assembly and C language. Familiarity with BIOS code bases (AMI, Insyde, UDK open source). Experience with DDR5, LPDDR5, GDDR6 memory development, debugging, and tuning. Strong leadership and communication skills. UEFI experience is required. Experience with ARM development and other listed skills is a plus. Academic Credentials Bachelors or Masters degree in relevant engineering or computer science disciplines.
