Job Summary We are seeking a qualified and motivated Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT) specializing in Flow Cytometry to join our dynamic diagnostic team in New York. The technologist will be responsible for performing complex laboratory procedures related to immunophenotyping, leukemia/lymphoma panels, stem cell enumeration, and other flow cytometry assays in compliance with CLIA, NYSDOH, CAP, and other regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and maintain flow cytometers (e.g., Client FACSCanto, LSRFortessa) and related laboratory equipment. Perform specimen processing, antibody staining, instrument acquisition, and data analysis for diagnostic and monitoring assays. Utilize clinical software tools (e.g., FACSDiva, Kaluza, or FlowJo) to analyze cell populations and generate clinical reports. Adhere to laboratory protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality control procedures. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation for all tests performed. Participate in proficiency testing, equipment maintenance, and inventory management. Assist with method development, validation of new panels, and troubleshooting technical issues. Communicate effectively with pathologists, lab supervisors, and other healthcare providers. Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Medical Technology, or related field. New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License (Required). ASCP or equivalent certification preferred. At least 1 year of hands-on experience in Flow Cytometry, preferably in a clinical setting. Working knowledge of immunology, hematologic malignancies, and flow cytometric markers. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and LIS (Laboratory Information Systems). • Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of recent flow cytometry experience in a high-complexity CLIA-certified lab. Experience with multi-color panel development (8+ colors). Familiarity with CAP/NYSDOH inspection standards. Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
