Job Title: Cloud Engineer - Migration Focus Join us at Innovative Solutions as a Cloud Engineer with a migration focus . We are looking for a skilled professional to assist clients in migrating workloads to AWS. Location: Rochester, NY; hybrid candidates with 10% travel required. Salary Range: $100,000 - $125,000 per year. Actual pay will depend on skills and experience. Role Objective The Cloud Engineer will be a key technical resource responsible for migrating workloads from on-premises or other cloud environments to AWS. The role involves collaboration with Cloud Architects and senior team members to assess, plan, and execute migrations aligned with client business and technical needs. Qualifications Technical understanding of cloud infrastructure and migration methodologies Experience with server, application, and database migrations Familiarity with AWS migration tools and services Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Attention to detail and a methodical approach to migration planning Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences Understanding of networking concepts and security best practices in cloud environments Required Experience 1-3 years of cloud technology experience, preferably AWS AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or ability to obtain certification within 3 months Basic understanding of Windows and Linux server OS Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) Familiarity with AWS migration tools (Application Migration Service, Database Migration Service) Knowledge of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs, routing) Experience with infrastructure as code tools (CloudFormation, Terraform) Understanding of security concepts (IAM, security groups, NACLs) Preferred Experience AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification Experience with large-scale migration projects Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) Knowledge of database technologies (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) Responsibilities & KPIs Assess infrastructure for migration readiness Execute migrations using AWS tools Configure AWS infrastructure with CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform Implement AWS networking services Support testing, validation, and documentation post-migration Support cutover activities and troubleshoot issues Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions Assist with post-migration cost optimization Additional Information The salary is a guideline; actual offers depend on role responsibilities, market conditions, location, and candidate experience and skills.
