The Food and Nutrition Services Associate plays a key role in preparing, serving, and managing nutritious meals in a healthcare or food service environment. This position supports dietary needs, ensures food safety, and contributes to the overall well-being of patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation:
Prepare meals according to standardized recipes, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and nutritional content.
Recipe Adherence:
Read and follow recipes accurately, adjusting portions and ingredients as needed to meet dietary requirements.
Knife Skills:
Utilize proper knife techniques for chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients efficiently and safely.
Food Safety and Sanitation:
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in food preparation and storage areas, adhering to safety protocols.
Meal Service:
Assist in plating and serving meals to patients, staff, or customers, ensuring that dietary restrictions and preferences are met.
Inventory Management:
Help with inventory control, including receiving deliveries, stocking supplies, and monitoring food expiration dates.
Work closely with kitchen staff, dietitians, and healthcare professionals to support patient nutrition plans.
Equipment Maintenance:
Operate kitchen equipment safely and perform routine cleaning and maintenance as required.
Required Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Skills: Strong knife skills, ability to read and follow recipes, attention to detail, and good communication skills.
P referred Qualifications:
Completion of culinary coursework or training (preferred but not required).
Previous experience in food service, especially in healthcare or institutional settings.
Certifications (if any):
Food Handler’s Certification (if required by local health regulations).
ServSafe Certification (preferred but not required).
