Tulane University School of Medicine (Tulane SoM) seeks candidates for the newly created position of Dean of Clinical and Translational Research. The Assistant/Associate Dean will be an accomplished scientist and visionary leader in funded clinical research with experience working within a matrixed academic environment. The Assistant/Associate Dean will be responsible for enhancing research collaborations within the Tulane School of Medicine, health system, and cross-university initiatives. This role includes overseeing the growth of the Tulane Center for Clinical Research (TCCR) and developing a strategic plan focusing on clinical impact, competitive analysis, business plans, and performance management. The position requires strategic evaluation of the current landscape to identify strengths, opportunities, and weaknesses, aiming to build research capabilities with industry sponsors in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. The focus will be on conducting the full spectrum of clinical trials, from Phase 1 to Phase 4, bridging bench to bedside, and investigator-initiated to industry- or federally sponsored research.
