Springfield, VA Overall Assignment Description:
The Lead Data Modeler serves as the Subject Matter Expert and technical lead for developing, profiling, and applying GEOINT data content standards. Responsibilities include organizing and leading technical tasks, engaging with customers to gather requirements, managing project deliverables, and coordinating solutions across teams and disciplines. This is a key position, listed in the Statement of Work (SOW), contingent on government approval. General Responsibilities:
Serve as SME on GEOINT standards to facilitate compliance and interoperability, integrating NSG & ASG requirements while reducing technical and schedule risks. Ensure GEOINT standards meet capability requirements at program and strategic levels across agencies and international partners. Develop capability-based standards profiles and reference architectures for search, discovery, access, retrieval, and analytics. Develop and update standards documents, work with users to understand requirements, and monitor relevant ISO, OGC, IC DES standards for updates. Create profiles and implementations, maintain related software, and ensure successful deployment of content updates. Support governance, configuration management, outreach, and user support activities. Skills and Experience:
Required:
Over 10 years of experience in data modeling, analytics, or data science; a bachelor's degree in a STEM field; extensive experience with UML, logical data models, RDF, OWL, JSON, SKOS, and related tools; familiarity with XML, SQL, and data modeling tools. Desired:
Leadership experience, ability to develop complex concepts, evaluate new technologies, and manage multiple projects. Additional experience with XML, XSD, Java, and ontologies is preferred. Education/Certification:
Required: Bachelor's in a STEM field; Desired: Master's plus 10+ years or equivalent experience.
