Position Overview:
The Social Worker is responsible for providing Social Services according to TJC (Joint Commission) and Medicare standards in conjunction with Gateway Regional Medical Center policies. The role will function independently after the Case Management sets direction. Including but not limited to daily review of medical records to determine appropriateness and medical necessity of admission, continued hospital stay and use of ancillary services.

Education Qualifications: Required:
Master of Social Work degree from a school of social work accredited by the Council of Social Work Education
OR
has a baccalaureate degree in social work from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
Certification Qualifications: Required:
Licensed as a Social Worker (LSW) by the State of Illinois is required within 6 months Preferred:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW
Experience Qualifications: Prior experience in a health care setting is preferred
