Provide strategic leadership and oversight by leading overall direction, performance, and staff development of the Special Projects Program, ensuring alignment with regional and national business goals. Manage full P&L responsibility for the SPG, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance related to transportation and heavy civil infrastructure projects. Client Development & Project Execution: Cultivate relationships with public agencies, DOTs, and infrastructure partners. Lead client pursuits, strategic partnerships, and ensure successful project delivery from proposal through completion. Mentor a high-performing team of project managers and technical staff. Provide guidance on complex technical decisions, QA/QC standards, and ensure consistent excellence in deliverables. Collaborate across ECS subsidiaries to align on project scopes, schedules, and fee structures. Ensure internal invoicing and project tracking processes support client expectations and business goals. Refine and enhance internal tracking tools and systems to drive project visibility, reporting accuracy, and on-time performance across the SPG. Develop and lead targeted training initiatives related to specialized project requirements, ensuring staff are equipped to meet evolving client demands. Business Development & Market Expansion: Identify and pursue strategic growth opportunities within the region. Engage in proactive marketing and positioning activities to expand ECS's footprint in transportation and infrastructure markets. Client Relationship Management: Serve as a trusted advisor to key clients, ensuring satisfaction, repeat business, and alignment with long-term goals. What We're Looking For
15+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering and/or CMT as a professional engineer and project manager. Proven leadership experience at the regional or executive level in geotechnical and/or construction materials testing, specifically on transportation and heavy civil consulting programs. Strong background in public sector business development and project delivery (DOT, municipal, or large civil projects). Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage profit centers and lead cross-functional teams across multiple geographies. Licensed PE is required. Who We Are
