About the Position
Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking a Sr. Programmer/Analyst who will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance applications utilizing web development frameworks and best practices. In addition, the role involves mentoring team members, leading code reviews and technical sessions, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and timely delivery of software solutions.
This position is required to be onsite in our York, PA office.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain dynamic user interfaces using jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
- Collaborate with back-end developers to transform wireframes into polished, responsive interfaces
- Ensure cross browser and device compatibility, optimizing for speed and scalability
- Debug and troubleshoot jQuery code, resolve UI bugs, and manage performance bottlenecks
- Write clean, modular, maintainable code and reusable jQuery plugins, promoting best practices and code review participation
- Integrate with third-party APIs and libraries as needed via AJAX/RES
- Stay current with jQuery ecosystem updates, plugins, and modern front-end trends
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Pursue professional growth and continued education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Industry Experience: A minimum of 6 years in software development
- Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery
- Deep knowledge of software architecture principles, microservices, and design principles for building large-scale, robust platforms
- Ability to share technical knowledge through formal mentoring, code reviews, design document reviews, and technical presentations
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, ownership, and leadership skills
- Experience with Angular development is preferred but not required
- Experience with React Native for developing Android and iOS apps is preferred but not required
