Job SummaryThe Commodity Manager manages procurement expenditures and product-related services, develops strategic relationships with suppliers, and ensures requirements are met on time and with quality standards. The role involves developing and implementing Commodity SCM strategies, leading commodity management teams, and supporting global supply chain objectives.
The Commodity Manager leads commodity management for all sites globally, operating with high autonomy, mentoring teams, and ensuring value generation aligned with site and program needs. The role includes leading projects, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost, quality, and delivery targets are met.
Job Responsibilities- Achieve profit goals related to commodities, including cost savings, quality, and supplier rationalization.
- Lead commodity resourcing activities to maintain competitive advantage.
- Develop and steer category strategies.
- Support and develop procurement staff.
- Assist in Make or Buy decisions and supplier development.
- Leverage synergies across GKN's global network.
- Improve program profitability through continuous improvement and smart sourcing strategies.
- Ensure cost-effective, quality, and timely supply of products and services.
- Partner with the Procurement Emerging Markets team to develop a global supply chain.
- Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring compliance and performance.
- Manage strategic supplier relationships and conduct regular reviews.
- Plan for succession within the global commodity network.
- Manage budgets as applicable.
- Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related fields.
- 8 years of Category Management/Commodity experience.
- 3 years in the aerospace industry.
- Compliance with ITAR export regulations as a US Person.
