Job Description
Job Purpose:
Reporting directly to the Global HR Business Partner or Region/Site HR Business Partner, the HR Generalist supports and guides employees and managers on HR policies, employment legislation, and labor/union relations. Responsibilities include managing the employee lifecycle activities, supporting HR initiatives, and ensuring policy compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and policies.
- Maintain updated policies and employee handbook.
- Support development and implementation of HR policies.
- Provide guidance on employment issues and policy violations.
- Support labor/union relations and communication efforts.
- Assist with HR programs like benefits, performance management, and employee engagement.
- Handle staffing activities, onboarding, promotions, and exits.
- Investigate policy violations professionally.
- Support talent acquisition activities.
- Liaise with HR Shared Services for transactional activities.
- Encourage use of HR query systems.
- Organize communication and team-building events.
- Promote safe workplace culture and compliance with EH&S.
Qualifications:
- Discretion in handling employee data.
- Knowledge of employment laws and labor relations.
- Effective communication and coaching skills.
- Ability to manage multiple activities efficiently.
- Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office.
- Degree in Human Resources or related certification.
- Minimum 5 years HR experience preferred.
- Fluency in regional language and bilingual in Spanish preferred; English also preferred.
