Location : Remote US - Must be near a major airport
Travel : Up to 50%, multiple days at a time, both US & international travel (for tradeshows, etc.)
Position Summary
HistoSonics is seeking a strategic and relationship-driven Director of Society Partnerships & Engagement to lead the company’s engagement with professional medical societies, industry associations, and key external stakeholders. This role is essential in advancing HistoSonics' presence, influence, and alignment with clinical and scientific communities in support of our non-invasive histotripsy platform. The position will provide leadership for the Society & Professional Meetings team.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Engagement
Develop and execute a strategic engagement plan aligned with corporate goals. Serve as the primary liaison with national and international medical societies (e.g., SIR, ASTRO, AUA, EAU, etc.). Identify and pursue opportunities for co-marketing, educational sponsorships, scientific sessions, panel participation, and leadership positioning.
Partnership Development
Cultivate strategic alliances with societies, advocacy groups, and related organizations to advance education, awareness, and clinical adoption of histotripsy. Develop exclusive networking events for society leadership to engage with HistoSonics’ leadership. Coordinate joint initiatives (e.g., symposia, society-endorsed programs, standards development).
Advocacy & Thought Leadership
Represent the company at society meetings, industry conferences, and public forums to enhance visibility and credibility. Partner with societies to influence policies and practice that impact the adoption of HistoSonics medical devices. Develop and execute strategies for positioning the company as a thought leader in key therapeutic areas.
Education Collaboration
Facilitate the development of joint education programs in collaboration with medical societies. Identify and work closely with Key Opinion Leaders and advisory boards to drive adoption and advocacy for HistoSonics’ technology.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, R&D, Marketing, and Commercial teams to ensure society strategies support broader organizational objectives. Support KOL engagement by facilitating introductions through societies and leveraging society connections for thought leadership and collaboration.
Event Strategy & Execution
Oversee HistoSonics’ participation in key society conferences (e.g., abstracts, symposia, booths, speaking engagements). Provide leadership for HistoSonics Society & Professional meetings teams to ensure flawless planning and execution of tradeshow strategies. Track, analyze, and report society-related initiatives and their impact on business outcomes. Establish a strong presence at annual society meetings through sponsorships, symposia, and product demonstrations. Secure speaker opportunities at high-profile sessions to showcase Histotripsy clinical and technological advancements. Facilitate abstract & poster submissions with physician user base
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, Advanced degree in life sciences, public health, business, or related field preferred. 8–12+ years of experience in the medical device, biopharma, or healthcare sectors, with a focus on strategic partnerships or society engagement. Prior experience launching innovative medical technologies and building society partnerships from early clinical to commercial stages. Proven track record of developing high-impact partnerships and forging strategic collaborations with medical societies. Experience with reimbursement advocacy, guidelines development, or professional education initiatives in partnership with societies.

Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships, internally and externally. Ability to establish immediate credibility at all levels, inside and outside the organization. Demonstrated detail oriented and problem-solving capabilities. Analytical, able to analyze processes and make changes. Proven influence, relationship-building skills Demonstrated initiative. Results oriented. Strong interpersonal communication skills Flexibility and adaptability Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, including but not limited to HIPAA, Sunshine Act, and the HistoSonics Guidelines on Interaction with US Healthcare Professionals.
Salary Range: $170,000 - $200,000, plus bonus.
