JOB TITLE
NAQC Electrical Sr. Engineer WHAT YOU WILL DO
Hyundai Motor Group North America Quality Center (NAQC) is the quality arm of Hyundai Motor Group (HMG), based in South Korea, overseeing all quality issues in North America. The NAQC Investigation Team aims to identify quality issues in the North American market and implement targeted corrective actions to reduce field problems. Our goal is to meet the demands of sophisticated consumers and ensure the company's success through uncompromising quality and customer satisfaction. We are seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer in Chino/Irvine, CA, to: Participate in investigations to analyze field data, identify root causes, and compile technical reports. Possess knowledge of automotive electronics and troubleshooting skills to resolve electrical issues. Collaborate with stakeholders such as HMG Quality Team, R&D, suppliers, and North American affiliates to coordinate joint activities. The ideal candidate is an: Excellent problem-solver, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement. Autonomous worker with an automotive background and troubleshooting expertise. Effective communicator capable of conveying ideas to diverse audiences. People-focused professional working well with internal 'customers'. Daily responsibilities include: Conducting quality investigations on Hyundai, Kia, or Genesis vehicles based on warranty data. Performing field investigations to define and duplicate electrical quality problems. Publishing technical reports with findings and recommendations for improvements. Analyzing electrical component failures and coordinating with vendors. Providing technical support during product evaluations and working with vendors to verify solutions. Supporting dealer technical issues through root cause analysis and resolution methods. Studying industry reports and market trends to benchmark competitors. Mentoring junior engineers on complex projects. Setting goals aligned with organizational KPIs. WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
Applicants should have: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering. At least 6 years of experience in QA/QC, quality improvement, or vehicle quality investigation and root cause analysis. Familiarity with tools like Vector CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape, Oscilloscope, Spectrum analyzer. Proficiency in MS Office applications. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Willingness to support initiatives beyond daily activities. Experience in project management. Note: Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. and verification will be required at hire.
