JOB DESCRIPTION: The Operating Room Specialty Radiology Technologist is preferred to have a minimum of 5 years of operating room (OR) procedures experience as a Diagnostic Imaging Tech and have committed hours to UVM Medical Center (UVMMC). They function at an advanced level within the OR performing a wide variety of exams and duties,including functions of the Diagnostic Imaging Tech I, II & III. In addition to Diagnostic Imaging Tech I, II & III functions, they demonstrate progressive knowledge, a sense of responsibility and a high level of commitment in the daily operations of the radiology OR area including the OR Hybrid room and the O-Arm according to established practices under the direction of a Radiologist, Surgeon, Supervisor, and Lead Technologists. Assist in the clinical instruction of radiography students and provide functional guidance to the Diagnostic Imaging Techs, new hires and other hospital personnel as needed.May be required to work a variety of shifts, holidays, and take call on a rotational basis, including Endovascular call and OR call for all operating room fluoroscopic procedures as assigned. EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology approved by CAHEA/JERCT.ARRT certified and licensed with the State of Vermont. CPR certified. EXPERIENCE: 5 years of experience is preferred but not required working in the OR and the Radiology field.Has successfully completed all competencies and has committed hours at UVMMC. Must be ARRT certified and hold a current license with the State of Vermont. Must be CPR certified.
