Our client in Anderson, SC is looking for an Inpatient Medical Coder for a fulltime position. This role can be Onsite, Hybrid or Fully Remote. There are currently 4 openings! Are you a detail-oriented and clinically savvy professional looking to make a meaningful impact in the healthcare industry? We're seeking a skilled Inpatient Medical Coder to join our team, where you'll play a critical role in accurately assigning codes and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements: - A high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Active credential in RHIT, RHIA, or CCS (required)
- Experience in inpatient coding is Required
- Minimum of 1 year Hospital experience required
- Proficiency with keyboard/data entry skills and experience using 3M Encoder
- Familiarity with healthcare billing and reimbursement processes is a plus
Responsibilities: - Accurately assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS diagnosis and procedure codes for all inpatient accounts, adhering to official coding guidelines and facility requirements
- Utilize 3M Encoder software and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to review medical records and ensure accurate code capture
- Collaborate with clinical documentation improvement (CDI) teams to clarify documentation and enhance code quality
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, payer policies, and documentation standards
