We are looking for a Civil/Structural Instrumentation and Monitoring Engineer to join our team at Geocomp!
As a member of our Instrumentation & Monitoring team, you will contribute to the design, installation, and operation of complex monitoring systems on heavy civil infrastructure projects. This hybrid role combines field and office work, supporting both instrumentation systems and geo-structural engineering services.
The successful candidate should be technology-minded, curious, and eager to learn on the job. Both entry-level and experienced applicants are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:
Supporting proposal development, cost estimates, and technical reports for nationwide I&M projects Assembling and programming dataloggers and sensor systems Installing and maintaining geotechnical and structural instrumentation in the field Conducting site inspections and supervising drilling and soil sampling Processing and analyzing field data to assess structural and geotechnical performance Producing high-quality reports and communicating results with clients Operating power tools and equipment during installations (some lifting/climbing required) Collaborating with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors Working in a hybrid format, with most work conducted remotely and field visits as needed Qualifications:
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline Academic or hands-on experience with geotechnical, structural, mechanical engineering, or sensor technologies Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Strong teamwork, organizational, and communication skills Willingness to travel up to 50% (domestic) annually Valid driver's license and clean driving record Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and currently reside in California Preferred
Field construction experience EIT Certification Experience with GIS and CAD software Background in instrumentation installation and monitoring Preferred Locations

The candidate must have the ability to climb ladders and lift/carry up to 50 lbs. This position may require work performed in confined spaces and at heights in excess of 10 feet. Some of the work may be performed in the field where exposure to chemicals, noise, dust, variations in temperature and humidity, fumes and various types of construction equipment may apply.
