This role within the Global Communications & Brand team will develop strategic events planning and support integrated marketing communications campaigns for the Bioscience Production Segment (BPS). The
Strategic Events Manager
will lead the execution of the business event channel strategy, defining and driving industry event strategies as a key component of our downstream marketing approach. Collaborating with marketing, commercial, and communication teams, this role ensures our event presence aligns with customer priorities, business goals, and brand positioning. Responsibilities include developing marketing plans, overseeing key deliverables, and tracking event performance. This role manages a budget of nearly $1 million, maintaining a consistent brand experience across all events and serving as a key IMC partner for this high-impact channel. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or Sciences 10+ years of experience in event management, marketing, communications, or related fields, with a proven track record in event organization and execution Experience with biotechnology, pharma, life sciences, or advanced technology sectors preferred Global experience is advantageous Hands-on experience translating strategies into actions Strong organizational and project management skills within a matrix organization Excellent relationship-building and leadership skills in cross-functional environments Creative, highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple projects Excellent communication skills and a dynamic personality Willingness to travel domestically and internationally 10-15% Key Responsibilities Develop and execute integrated event strategies aligned with segment goals Define criteria for event selection, target audiences, and success metrics Collaborate with the Shows & Events Center of Excellence for event execution Lead planning sessions with sales, product management, and leaders Coordinate event planning with broader marketing initiatives Manage pre-, during-, and post-event engagement strategies Identify opportunities for thought leadership and audience targeting Create project plans and manage tactical activities Prepare briefings for executives and stakeholders Partner with teams and agencies for content and assets creation Oversee budget and ensure compliance with internal processes Manage lead generation and post-event communications Track and analyze event performance metrics Why Join Avantor?
