The Sr. Project Manager, NPI leads cross-functional teams and is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of deliverables related to Manufacturing Transfer and Operations projects in compliance with Gener8's Quality Management System (ISO 90001/ISO 13485). The Sr. Project Manager, NPI will identify, plan and monitor completion of tasks necessary for product transfers into full-scale manufacturing. Being the face of Gener8 to contract-manufacturing customers, the Sr. Project Manager, NPI will prepare estimates and proposals for, interface with, and monitor project performance for key accounts. Project manage multiple complex projects and teams for NPI, Manufacturing, Supply chain, and operational excellence Develop, manage and maintain up-to-date Project Timelines (e.g., using MS Project) inclusive of all critical milestones, key interdependencies and resource constraints Build cross functional teams promoting cooperation and teamwork to deliver key deliverables Lead projects that include internal and external stakeholders (e.g., customers) Engage with project team and lead by example to solve problems, innovate solutions, resolve blockers, etc. Create and execute project work plans (Work Breakdown Structure) and revise as appropriate to maintain schedule and deliverable milestones Monitor and report on project execution including mitigation and recovery when required Prepare project estimates for quotation purposes and monitor project budgets Participate in development and continuous improvement of Gener8's manufacturing strategy Identify type and quantity of human resources required and delegate tasks accordingly Ensure production line transfer details such as demand, capacity, and costs are prepared and communicated to operations stakeholders (planning, manufacturing, purchasing, etc.) Manage project risks through avoidance and mitigation as required Bachelor's degree in engineering or project management with at least 5 years' experience in new product introduction and design transfer, with at least 2 years as the technical subject matter expert, technical lead or project manager on a large-scale technical hardware project. (Master's degree preferred.) Experience in project-managing at least one large-scale engineering services project for "blue-chip" clients with direct customer interface Experience in executing multiple value-engineering/value analysis (VAVE) projects increasing profitability of manufactured products Proven positive track record in problem solving with current, real-world examples for quickly organizing, planning, and execution using more than one problem-solving technique Able to quickly perceive issues and begin problem resolution through using your 'go-to' problem solving tool to address the root cause Experience in creating and maintaining project schedules using Microsoft Project or equivalent - provide one example of this work. Ability to use the appropriate computer-based project management tools for scheduling, budgeting, and tracking based on the project scope and complexity. Skilled at managing long-term, technical, or engineering projects evidenced by timelines and deliverables exceeding 6 months in duration. Experience in managing projects in the development and/or production of at least one medical device - preferably instruments. Diverse engineering experience spanning multiple sectors such as automotive, mechatronics, industrial, medical/dental, aerospace, biotechnology, etc. Experience implementing lean concepts such as 5S, accountability boards (more than one), and Gemba for products transferring into production. Familiar with sourcing and supplier strategy, component qualification, and low cost regional suppliers Able to understand and manage budgets that consist of various areas including but not limited to: time and material labor, direct labor, expense materials, returned goods remanufacture, and tooling (NRE)
