Overview
Below is a summary of the Intermediate FF&E Designer’s responsibilities: - Works with the Project Manager and/or Senior Designer to create and develop the design of a project, from the conceptual stages through the detailing phase, from the overall scheme of the project down to individual details.
- Produces design documents, from Concept through Installation phases, with the rest of the design team, under the guidance of the Project Manager and/or Senior Designer.
- Has established knowledge of, and relationships with, vendors/suppliers and their products that contribute to the Intermediate Designer's development of the design.
- Researches information about pricing, sourcing, and leadtimes.
The ideal candidate’s background includes: - 5 to 7 years of experience in high-end residential and/or hospitality interior design.
- Experience working for and within high-end, renowned interior design firms.
- Experience in designing millwork.
- Experience in designing furniture and cased goods.
- Knowledge of high-end sources for residential furniture, lighting, drapery, fabrics, and speciality finishes, including auctions, boutique vintage sources and markets, and other sources appropriate for boutique, high-end projects.
- Knowledge of fabricators for bespoke furniture, lighting, and joinery.
- Knowledge of high end sources for decorative accessories.
- Degree in Interior Design from an accredited institution.
- Legal and physical residency in New York City or its vicinity.
- Established legal permission to work in the US.
- Willingness to work at our office in Manhattan full time.
Full proficiency required in the following skills: - Oral and written communication in English - MS Office Suite - AutoCAD - Adobe Suite - Sketchup
