As an MEP Engineering Group Leader, based in Houston TX, in the West Central-Cities and Places organization you’ll be using your design and analysis skills to plan and design mechanical (HVAC), electrical, and plumbing systems for buildings and facilities, including commercial and institutional projects, as well as provide guidance and leadership to our MEP group. Our MEP Engineers perform a wide range of skills as part of an integrated design building services provider. Vertical building and infrastructure project types can include aviation, water, educational, industrial, and transportation sectors. Group Leader responsibilities include: Manage our professional team consisting of mechanical, electrical and plumbing designers at all levels and our global aligned team. Promote a culture of caring, quality, safety and Inclusion and Diversity. Serve as key technical expert and resource on projects within your licensed discipline. Carry out the responsibilities of a Lead Engineer on medium and large sized projects or provide technical support / leadership on a project. Technical tasks include: Design and perform calculations for MEP systems, prepare drawings detailing the system designed, prepare basis of design reports, prepare and document energy compliance calculations and forms. Approve time and expense reports for aligned staff. Conduct internal team meetings to coordinate staff workloads and needs as well as convey management and HR communications. Conduct meetings with other GLs, Managers of Projects (MOPs), and sales team members to obtain future projects information for resource planning. Coordinate across regions and market sectors to optimize resource management and provide opportunities for staff development. Here's what you'll need: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or relevant degree Progressive experience as a buildings Engineer (Minimum of 12 years’ experience), as well as in-depth knowledge of current industry practices and trends Professional Engineering Licensure in Texas or ability to obtain Demonstrated aptitude, ability, and capacity to build a team Strong social, communication, planning, and organizational skills Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD Working knowledge of relevant MEP and building codes Ability to travel to other Jacobs offices Jacobs’ health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
