This position supports the NYS Tax Modernization Program, which involves modernizing legacy systems within the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance, responsible for billions in revenue. Key areas include: Collections and Accounts Receivable Taxpayer Accounting Real Property Tax Processing The candidate will develop programs and functionalities for the tax systems being modernized. Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Guiding technical design for system modernization Coordinating among technical support groups Implementing real-time changes requested by users Developing and maintaining tax processing systems Supporting production tasks and issue resolution Collaborating on development and testing Creating technical design documents and specifications Leading requirements gathering and analysis Coding, testing, and tuning SQL Supporting user testing and performance tuning Mentoring staff Mandatory Qualifications:
High-level design and technical standards setting, including multi-leveled architecture design 84+ months of experience guiding large teams or industry expertise Requested Qualifications:
84 months in J2EE technologies (JDBC, JSP, XML) 84 months developing Java EE applications with modern IDEs 84 months using frameworks like Spring or Struts and application servers like Tomcat, JBoss, Websphere, Weblogic 84 months SQL experience 84 months in system analysis and design of multitiered systems 60 months performance tuning experience 60 months messaging technologies experience (MQ, JMS, Kafka) Additional Details:
