About the Role:
A leading construction firm is seeking an experienced
Project Manager
to lead and manage heavy civil construction projects ranging from $5M-$75M. This position is critical to the success of projects involving complex infrastructure such as dams, fisheries, energy facilities, and other water resource systems. The ideal candidate will oversee the full lifecycle of construction projects from preconstruction to final closeout, ensuring compliance, quality, and performance objectives are met.
Responsibilities:
Manage mid-to-large scale construction projects with moderate to high risk.
Oversee all project phases with minimal oversight.
Coordinate with operations to meet performance goals.
Enforce corporate safety policies on-site.
Mentor and guide project support staff.
Develop and implement project Work Plans.
Lead scheduling, staffing, and budgeting efforts.
Interpret contracts, plans, and specifications for all stakeholders.
Negotiate contracts and change orders.
Secure permits and ensure environmental compliance.
Step in as acting superintendent when needed.
Control procurement and material requisitions.
Create and track project budgets and reports.
Conduct quality control and manage delays or emergencies.
Maintain communication with owners, contractors, and design teams.
Provide constructability reviews and contribute to design solutions.
Review and ensure quality of project documentation and client submissions.
Prepare project payment applications and closeout documentation.
Manage warranty period tracking and final project completion.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field - or equivalent experience.
5-8+ years of experience managing heavy civil design-build projects.
Proven success in leading projects from design through completion.
Strong understanding of permitting, regulatory compliance, and construction best practices.
