This is a rare opportunity to work at the forefront of renewable energy law, supporting major energy transition projects and advising on tax equity structures in a fast-evolving regulatory environment. This preeminent San Francisco firm offers a full-service practice which covers a number of areas, including: Litigation, Corporate, Tax, Environmental, Labor & Employment, and Real Estate. Many of the firm's top clients are investment banks, but, in recent years, the firm has expanded its intellectual property litigation practice. The atmosphere is collegial, but slightly more conservative than most Bay Area firms. Salaries are in line with other top Bay Area firms, and the firm provides a $10,000 bonus for all lawyers who bill at least 1,950 hours, with additional money based on three separate billable-hour levels above 1,950. ________________________________________ Join a nationally recognized group advising sponsors, developers, and investors in renewable energy deals—including solar, wind, and battery storage projects—while collaborating on M&A, joint ventures, and cutting-edge tax strategies. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: • Structure and advise on tax aspects of renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and clean tech • Assist clients with monetizing clean energy tax credits under federal legislation • Draft and negotiate tax-related sections of project finance and investment documentation • Work closely with deal teams on tax equity, M&A, and joint venture arrangements • Conduct due diligence and advise on tax risks in large-scale infrastructure initiatives • Stay current with evolving tax policies impacting the energy sector ________________________________________ Qualifications: • 3–6 years of experience in transactional tax at an Am Law 100 or comparable firm • Background or strong interest in renewable energy or infrastructure finance • Familiarity with partnership taxation, tax equity structuring, and energy credits • JD from an accredited law school • Active membership in a U.S. State Bar; eligibility for California Bar preferred ________________________________________ Skills & Strengths: • Strong drafting and analytical skills • Excellent communication and teamwork across multidisciplinary legal/business teams • High attention to detail with a client-first approach • Comfortable managing complex deal timelines and priorities ________________________________________ Culture & Firm Appeal: This respected San Francisco-based Am Law firm is known for its full-service capabilities, covering corporate, tax, litigation, real estate, and more.
