Kent County Parks & Recreation is seeking dedicated Facility Supervisors to oversee operations during the Youth Basketball Season. This position is ideal for individuals who are responsible, organized, and have a passion for supporting youth sports. Facility Supervisors will ensure a safe, clean, and well-organized environment for all participants, coaches, and spectators during basketball games and practices. Facility Supervisors will be stationed at Garnet Elementary, Kent County Middle School, or Kent County Community Center depending on the schedule.
Essential Functions: Supervise the facility during youth basketball events, ensuring all activities run smoothly and on schedule. Open and close the facility according to schedule, securing the premises before and after events. Maintain a safe environment by monitoring activities, enforcing facility rules, and responding to emergencies or incidents as needed. Set up and break down equipment for games and practices, ensuring everything is in place and in good working order. Assist with crowd control and manage the flow of participants and spectators in and out of the facility. Communicate effectively with coaches, referees, parents, and players, providing assistance and information as needed. Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the facility, including restrooms, common areas, and gymnasium. Report any maintenance issues or concerns to the appropriate personnel. Maintain accurate attendance records and other relevant documentation for events held at the facility. Collaborate with other staff members to provide a positive experience for all participants.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment. Experience in facility management, sports supervision, or a related field is preferred. Must be reliable and able to work evening and weekend shifts. Ability to interact positively with youth, parents, coaches, and the general public. Must be able to handle physical tasks such as setting up equipment and light cleaning duties.
Physical & Environmental Conditions: Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, Light cleaning Lifting/moving programming equipment.
