Job Summary: The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the frontline representative of the organization, engaging directly with patients for routine health assessments and critical diagnostic testing. The PSR II performs skilled blood draws, specimen preparation, and verification, while maintaining confidentiality and delivering an exceptional patient experience. Assigned to a patient service center, doctor's office, or other facility, this role supports lab quality and patient satisfaction through accuracy, professionalism, and leadership behaviors.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform accurate and safe venipuncture for pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. Prepare and label specimens for laboratory processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Verify patient identity, signatures, and labeling procedures during collection. Maintain clean, safe, and professional work areas and uphold all health and safety protocols. Accurately document patient records and complete data entry for lab requisitions. Travel to multiple locations as needed with minimal notice; support holiday, weekend, on-call, and overtime shifts. Demonstrate a commitment to process excellence and customer care. Ensure compliance with dress code, safety standards, and corporate guidelines. Required Experience:
Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections High school diploma or equivalent required Keyboard/data entry experience essential Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (if applicable) Nice-to-Have Experience:
2+ years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment Customer service experience in retail or healthcare settings Medical assistant or paramedic training Phlebotomy certification (Required in CA, NV, and WA; preferred elsewhere) Required Skills:
