Lead Modeling and Simulation Engineer
to join our Kinetic Effectors Group. This role will lead the Modeling and Simulation Team from requirements through development and oversight of flight software models for the Next Generation Counter Uncrewed Aerial System Missile (NGCM) in support of national defense objectives. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams, government customers, and suppliers to deliver cutting-edge solutions in a mission-critical environment. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and utilization of modeling and simulation tools for missile systems, including trade studies, performance assessments, and conceptual studies. Collaborate with missile system engineers on design, development, and application of modeling and simulation tools. Shape missile test and evaluation activities, including scenario development and analysis. Lead mission analysis efforts for system verification and validation. Support GNC team in design, analysis, and implementation of algorithms such as autopilot, trajectory optimization, and navigation filters. Develop and validate 6-DOF missile simulation models, including aerodynamics, propulsion, and sensors. Analyze system performance across various scenarios and environments. Support integration of GNC software with hardware-in-the-loop simulations and flight hardware. Collaborate across disciplines and with stakeholders to address engineering challenges. Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and peer reviews within the team. Serve as the main M&S engineering interface to stakeholders, suppliers, and customers. Document and present technical reports, design reviews, and validation results. Oversee system verification and validation activities, including test planning and analysis. Assist in proposal development and technical planning. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field. U.S. citizen with an active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one. 11+ years of experience in missile system modeling and simulation, including 3+ years in a technical leadership role. Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, Python, C/C++, and simulation tools. Experience with flight vehicle physics, dynamics, and validation of M&S tools. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools. Strong organizational, multitasking, and confidentiality skills. Willingness to travel for meetings and testing. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline. 5+ years in related engineering fields like aerodynamics, navigation, guidance, or missile testing. Experience with Software-in-the-Loop (SWIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) simulations. Experience working in classified environments. Salary Range: $110,000 - $158,000.
