The Macdonald-Kelce Library at The University of Tampa has an opening for a Library Technical Assistant. Reporting to the Circulation Manager, the successful candidate will assist in the daily functions of the Library including front desk responsibilities, supervision of student employees and creating the best possible customer experience for our patrons. Responsibilities
1. Manages the Circulation Desk, often serving as a first point of contact for patron questions, technology issues, locating materials and resources, and assisting with library accounts in person or over the phone. 2. Has primary responsibility for the management and maintenance of the Course Reserves collection. 3. Shares responsibility for training student employees and supervising work assignments. 4. Oversees the daily collection and distribution of mail from the campus Post Office. 5. Alternates with other staff members in desk duty during service hours. 6. Serves as backup for processing new books, interlibrary loan requests and other collection maintenance duties as needed. 7. Assists with inventory projects. 8. Perform other duties as assigned. 9. Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of all cultures and backgrounds. Qualifications
1. High School Diploma or its equivalent is required. 2. Strong written, oral, interpersonal and organizational skills as well as the ability to manage time wisely. 3. Ability to interpret, use, teach, and explain the use of library resources. 4. Ability to manage and prioritize a variety of tasks and demands in a busy environment with frequent interruptions. 5. Significant and relevant experience providing customer service or delivering instruction. 6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 7. Be solution oriented with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 8. Knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly The University of Tampa software programs such as Workday and Microsoft Office. 9. Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices. Preferred Qualifications
1. Knowledge of library practices and procedures. 2. Knowledge of library systems and software, including circulation functions. 3. Experience working at a library circulation desk. 4. Experience in an academic library. Required Attachments

Work hours for this position will vary throughout the year but are generally 7:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. (Monday through Friday) during the academic year. 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Monday through Friday) when classes are not in session. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required. Summer Schedule: 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Monday through Thursday) Benefits
