Job Description We’re hiring a Linguist I to deliver cutting-edge language solutions. You’ll collaborate with Machine Learning experts on US English tasks, including data annotation, grammar creation, and documentation. Key Responsibilities Create grammars, provide language data, and annotate for NLP projects in US English. Perform translation, localization, phonetic transcription, speech synthesis, and ASR transcription. Document product features for developers, IT admins, and end users. Review data/test results and propose improvements. Resolve issues with documentation, schedules, and deliverables. Stay updated on Android, smart home devices, and IoT trends. Required Qualifications Native US English speaker with strong grammar, spelling, and syntax skills. Proficient in Spanish grammar, spelling, and syntax. Experience in English/Spanish translation or localization. Focused on repetitive testing/data review tasks. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Familiar with voice assistants (e.g., Siri, Alexa). Quick to learn tools/software in a Windows environment. Knowledge of smart home devices and IoT. Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. Bachelor’s degree (Linguistics preferred). 0-3 years of experience. Preferred Qualifications Background in computational linguistics or NLP. Experience with voice assistant software or academic settings. Scripting skills (Python, Pandas, NumPy, SQL, Regular Expressions). Knowledge of US English linguistics (syntax, semantics, phonetics). Experience in US English localization or Voice UX design. Proficient in Excel for data analysis. Familiar with SharePoint, Confluence, Git, Android Studio, or Jira. Software QA/testing experience. Why Join SoftQuip?
