PCU Registered Nurse Job Details Location: Charleston, SC 29425 (South Carolina nursing jobs) Facility: Level I Trauma Center & Magnet Hospital Unit: 22-bed intermediate PCU/medical-surgical unit specializing in transplant, nephrology, and urology patients Assignment Length: 13 weeks (locum tenens contract) Start Date: September 1, 2025 End Date: December 1, 2025 Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:30), every other weekend and holiday rotation required Hours per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1470 - $1570 On-Site Position Charting: EPIC EMR Scrub Colors: Solid royal blue or white top with royal blue bottoms PCU RN Qualifications Active South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact State Registered Nurse License (must be issued/active before start date) Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, stepdown, or medical-surgical RN experience Required certifications (AHA only): ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Ability to float within scope as needed Willingness to work every other weekend and participate in holiday rotations Proficiency in blood product administration, central line care/management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, oxygen therapy, rapid response, and computerized documentation Completion of required modules and orientation prior to start Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted) Registered Nurse Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a PCU/medical-surgical setting, focusing on pre- and post-operative transplant (liver, kidney, kidney/pancreas), nephrology, and urology patients Monitor and manage patients in stepdown and telemetry beds, including those with arterial lines and specialized drips Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Administer medications, manage central and peripheral lines, and provide advanced cardiac and respiratory support Participate in emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November) Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC EMR Support ongoing transplant-specific education and pursue specialty nursing certifications Float to other units within scope to meet facility needs Take the next step in your nursing career with this exceptional PCU Registered Nurse job in Charleston, SC.
