Clayton Services is searching for a Logistics Coordinator to join a thriving company in North Houston. The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for planning shipments, monitoring their progress, and preparing all necessary documents and meeting regulatory requirements.
Job Type: Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $25.00-$35.00/hour
Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO, and more.
Logistics Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Manage international logistics (air and ocean freight)
- Update the schedule with the current packing slips
- Request and book inbound container shipments
- Find ways to keep costs low by utilizing multiple freight companies
- Receive quotes from multiple companies to keep costs as low as possible
- Verify container load plans before shipment
- Confirm what needs to be shipped
- Book outbound container loads
- Verify the cost per container
- Complete invoices
- Keep the team updated on the delivery status
- Verify pickup numbers for inbound shipments
- Maintain and update spreadsheets and paperwork
- Organize air and ocean freight
- Other duties as assigned
Logistics Coordinator Skills and Abilities: - Excellent communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Excel proficiency
Logistics Coordinator Education and Experience: - An associate's degree is required. A bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Previous experience in logistics coordinating international freight (ocean) and imports is required.
