Position Overview Zayo is seeking a Long Haul Deployment Project Manager to be a key member of the project team responsible for managing turnkey construction contracts. The role involves utilizing project controls, proactive problem solving, and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders. The Long Haul Deployment Project Manager reports to the Long Haul Deployment Senior Manager. Candidates residing in AZ/NV/UT are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities: Draft, review, and negotiate OSP construction contracts, collaborating with legal teams to ensure compliance with project specifications and legal standards. Monitor project activities to ensure contractual obligations are met throughout the project lifecycle. Evaluate and process change orders, assessing impacts on budget, schedule, and scope. Facilitate communication between stakeholders, legal teams, and contractors to resolve contractual issues and disputes. Assess project status against schedules, issue notices, and monitor recovery plans. Work with contractors to ensure project progress aligns with expectations, managing schedules and forecasts. Manage regulatory and permitting issues such as NEPA, CPUC, Tribal Lands, etc. Plan and oversee project materials, including procurement and distribution. Provide project updates and reports to key customers and maintain organized records. Manage budgets, forecasts, and mitigate risks to stay within financial constraints. Deliver as-builts and ensure route data is accurately captured in inventory systems. Review invoicing against progress and resolve discrepancies. Ensure project delivery on time, within budget, and to standards. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree preferred in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; equivalent experience is acceptable. Business acumen is a plus. At least 7 years in telecommunications, with experience in outside plant, fiber optics, and project management. Minimum 5 years of contract and capital management experience, especially with large long haul projects. Knowledge of construction methods, fiber specifications, and network design principles. Understanding of contract types and payment structures. Ability to interpret construction documents and manage project facets from quoting to delivery. Experience managing large capital projects, including procurement and invoicing. Familiarity with NTIA program requirements like Davis-Bacon, BABA, EA is a plus. Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in MS Office, G Suite, and Google Earth; advanced Excel skills are advantageous. Experience with project management software like Site Tracker is a plus. Salary & Benefits Estimated base salary: $66,500 - $102,500 USD/year. Compensation varies based on location, experience, and organizational needs. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and more.
