The first heart transplant in Washington, D.C., was performed at our advanced heart failure center in 1987. Our program has since performed more than 250 heart transplants. We are one of five programs nationwide researching noninvasive methods to assess patients for the potential of heart transplant rejection. Become part of a long-standing, growing team of providers!
We are looking for a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join our MHVI: heart failure team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. In this role, the NP/PA will work primarily with heart failure physicians and transplant coordinators to provide post operation care for heart transplant patients. They will be part of the overall advanced heart failure team and have access to learn from experienced providers in the program.
$40,000 sign-on bonus
The ideal candidate is required to have prior experience in LVAD or cardiology. The schedule will include four 10-hour shifts per week with no holidays or weekends.
Minimum qualifications:
Education/training
Graduate from an accredited physician assistant or nurse practitioner program.
Minimum of two years nurse practitioner/physician assistant experience; new grads not considered.
Must have outpatient cardiology experience.
License/certification/registration
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills preferred.

This position has a hiring range of $115,000–$143,619.
