Responsibilities

• Define and Execute the Technology Roadmap: Lead a multi-year strategy that modernizes legacy systems and integrates AI and automation across internal workflows and client-facing platforms.
• Drive AI-Led Innovation: Partner with business leaders to implement GenAI, automation tools, and machine-learning solutions that improve efficiency and client experience.
• Lead Engineering and IT Operations: Manage and scale technical teams (engineering, IT, infrastructure) with a balance of strategic planning and hands-on guidance.
• Optimize Project Management: Oversee sprint planning, resource allocation, and backlog management to ensure smart execution with limited resources.
• Foster Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build trust with internal stakeholders—including the Chief Software Engineer—and create alignment across product, legal ops, marketing, and executive teams.
• Ensure Security and Compliance: Modernize infrastructure while upholding best practices in cybersecurity, data governance, and system integrity.
• Be a Trusted Advisor: Serve as a key member of the executive team, bringing gravitas, sound judgment, and clear communication to high-stakes decisions.
  

• Prior experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or Head of Technology in a legal, professional services, or operationally complex environment.
• Proven ability to lead AI transformation and implement modern technology stacks—without needing to be a deep AI technologist.
• Strong command of engineering management, project load balancing, sprint planning, and execution under resource constraints.
• Demonstrated success in organizational change management, systems upgrades, and scalable platform design.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative leadership style—must work effectively with strong technical peers like the current Chief Software Engineer.
• Executive-level presence and judgment; thrives in fast-paced, founder-led environments with high visibility and evolving priorities.
