Position Overview: Astria Therapeutics is dedicated to bringing hope with life-changing therapies to patients and families affected by allergic and immunological diseases. Astria’s pipeline includes our lead program, navenibart, a monoclonal antibody inhibitor of plasma kallikrein in clinical development for the treatment of hereditary angioedema, as well as STAR-0310, an OX40 monoclonal antibody antagonist currently in pre-clinical development for atopic dermatitis (AD) and being explored for other allergic and immunological diseases. Astria Therapeutics, Inc (NASDAQ: ATXS), a growing biotech company dedicated to developing life-changing therapies for people with rare allergic and immunological diseases, is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our dynamic finance team. This role will be instrumental in managing accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and supporting financial reporting and audits. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with strong technical accounting skills, biotech industry experience, and a passion for contributing to a mission-driven organization. Responsibilities: Manage the preparation of the consolidated financial statements and disclosures on the Company’s periodic SEC filings including Form 10-Qs, 10-Ks and 8-Ks in accordance with U.S. GAAP Lead and review the monthly and quarterly financial close including the account reconciliations prepared by the Senior Accountant Prepare and oversee journal entries and account reconciliations related to the Company’s manufacturing and clinical trial accruals as part of the monthly and quarterly close process Support the application of technical accounting pronouncements and evaluation of complex accounting matters as they arise Review and interpret new contracts and purchase orders for the correct accounting treatment as prepared by the Senior Accountant Assist in external audits and reviews under supervision of the Assistant Controller Manage stock plan administration, including valuation of options, share-based compensation accounting and option exercise activities Act as a liaison between Finance and other departments as required Manage relevant SOX control documentation and support the development and maintenance of internal controls required for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX 404) compliance Assist in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and other ad-hoc projects as needed Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance CPA required Relevant accounting or audit experience including 4+ years with large public CPA firm or public company industry experience Current understanding of technical accounting pronouncements and SEC rules and regulations Internal controls (SOX 404) experience Strong Excel proficiency and Word skills Organized, intelligent, educated, self-motivated individual with exceptional interpersonal skills suited to a fast-paced, value-driven and continuous-improvement culture Strong technical accounting experience Exposure to the preparation of periodic filings 10Qs, 10Ks, & 8-Ks Biotech experience a plus At Astria, we are committed to building a team where every Astrian endorses the idea that people bring their authentic self to work.
