Overview
The Market President is responsible for overseeing the bank's commercial activities of a geographic region. Directs commercial banking activities across multiple business lines including cost and profit performance of a region. The Market President combines high-level business development, community involvement, team leadership, and operational oversight to expand market share, deepen client relationships, and uphold the bank's standards of service and compliance.
OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE: Manages a team of Commercial Bankers in a specified geographic area. Collaborate with other business lines within the bank to ensure quality customer service to our clients. Ensures compliance with all bank and regulatory requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic Leadership: Develops objectives and measurement standards for market-specific growth strategies aligned with the banks overall vision. Foster growth among all lines of business in the market. Build relationships with all lines of business in the region/market to ensure cross departmental growth and effectiveness. Analyze local economic trends, market conditions, and competitor activity to identify opportunities and risks. Business Development: Prospects business deposits and loan relationships in the company target market using local networks and personal connections. Collaborates with other business lines including, but not limited to Retail, Mortgage, Investments, and treasury management in order to enhance the client relationships. Responsible for the proactive management of a loan portfolio to ensure a high-quality asset base, maintains up to date client files including all required financial records and loan documentation. Represents the bank and serves the community at local events, economic development initiatives, and nonprofit organizations. Team Leadership & Development: Manage and lead a team of Commercial Bankers, providing guidance, training, and support. Work with Commercial Bankers to establish team and individual goals that will drive results for the bank while fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment. Partner with HR for talent acquisition, training, and succession planning within the Market/Bank. Operational Excellence: Ensures the market operates within regulatory and compliance standards. Works with credit in risk analysis, risk rating measurements, and annual review process. Works with compliance and credit administration staff to ensure documentation, forms, and policies are maintained within bank and regulatory guidelines. Prepares and ensures accuracy of Loan Committee presentations following established underwriting and pricing guidelines. Demonstrates sound judgement in decision making, abiding appropriately to established guidelines and procedures. Financial Oversight: Ensures commercial team maintains asset quality of loan portfolio and monitors appropriate delinquency rate and quality control reports of assigned loan portfolios. Promotes the development and service of commercial loan portfolios. Expected to meet or exceed loan, fee income and deposit goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Equivalent Education/Experience
bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or related degree Requires 10 years of Commercial Banking Experience 5 + years of banking management experience
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Budget Forecasting proficiency Advanced knowledge of Commercial Banking products and services Advanced knowledge of Commercial Banking policies, processes, and best practices Excellent oral and written communication skills Negotiation skills Exhibit proficient PC skills, including word processing and spreadsheets Ability to develop and deliver executive presentations Ability to work independently with little direction Ability to maintain current working knowledge of commercial banking related laws and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with bank objectives
COMPLIANCE: As generally applicable to F&M Bank and commensurate with these job functions, this job role includes accountabilities for following Bank policies and related procedures, as well as regulatory requirements involving federal and state laws, regulations, and related guidance. Compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), including accurate completion of Currency Transaction Reports (CTR) when applicable, Anti-Money Laundering Act (AML), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and the USA PATRIOT Act. Adhere to Customer Identification, Customer Due Diligence and reporting of suspicious activities to the BSA Department.
