About the Role This individual will serve as the face of Maverick Power to our internal customers and interface with all departments to develop and deliver human resources policies and procedures that drive operational efficiency and engagement. You will be responsible for aligning HR programs with the organization’s business objectives and requirements. Develops and directs programs to ensure employees understand and support the company’s goals, plans and culture in all aspects of their work. Often serves as strategic, consultative partner with one or more departments or business units. Evaluates company policies and practices and identifies and implements strategies to advance the objectives of the organization or department in the areas of recruitment, workforce retention, employee performance, professional development, succession planning, and headcount management. Duties & Key Responsibilities Responsible for managing a broad range of duties to support the daily operations of HR programs Assists administration of recruitment, hiring and onboarding, benefits, employee performance, training, and development programs Facilitate new hire onboarding while also continuing to evolve the current process to create a productive, welcoming, and engaging experience for all new hires Assist employees with enrollment in payroll system and benefits Create and maintain employee files to meet state and federal requirements Act as a trusted advisor and coach to employees and management, addressing concerns and fostering a positive work atmosphere Support employee relations, performance management and front-line manager coaching Develop programs to support employee well-being, diversity, equity, and inclusion Develop internal communication resources to introduce more self-service options for routine inquiries Managing company-wide trainings, benefit presentations, policy updates, and employee events Create and present HR metrics via company dashboard to executive team on monthly and quarterly meetings Assist managers with HR challenges, employee-related incidents, and more as necessary Responsible for Workers Compensation reporting and management of unemployment benefits Conduct reference checks and coordinate background checks and drug screens on all selected candidates as required Monitor compliance and emerging employment law trends and share updates with the team and develop plans for addressing current and future requirements Design and implement initiatives to enhance the overall employee experience and work environment Drive additional projects and pivot as needed based on business and People Team priorities What You Bring (Qualifications) Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of HR Generalist experience including a combination of employee relations, compensation, and benefits Education: Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent years of experience in Human Resources or related field Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication and interpersonal skills are essential Extensive knowledge of HR procedures and policies and employment-related regulations, filing and compliance requirements is a plus Mindset: A Maverick mentality—problem-solving, ownership, and a commitment to excellence Self-directed initiators --Proactive self-starters. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to twenty-five pounds at times. May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
