Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Program Director Join to apply for the Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Program Director role at State of South Carolina Job Overview The Program Director for the Medical Lab Tech is responsible to the Dean of Health Sciences for the organization, administration, instruction, evaluation, continuous quality improvement, curriculum planning and development, direction of faculty/staff, and overall effectiveness of the MLT program. This role also involves obtaining and maintaining NAACLS accreditation for the program. Key Responsibilities Instructional Development: Collaborate with the Advisory Committee on program and course planning, develop and evaluate curricula. Teaching: Deliver courses as assigned, ensure high-quality instruction, evaluate student progress, participate in faculty performance systems, and aim for at least a 3.5 student evaluation score. Student Advisement: Assist in student recruitment, admission, and retention; maintain advising records; provide academic guidance; and hold office hours as needed. Professional Development: Represent the college at community and professional meetings, stay updated on educational trends, and complete required professional development. College/Community Service: Ensure accreditation compliance, liaise with accreditation bodies, participate in student recruitment and retention activities, and engage with professional and community organizations. Instructional Management: Oversee facilities and supplies, develop reports, manage student regulations, communicate policies, prepare budgets, and oversee class schedules. Minimum Qualifications Must possess a master's or doctoral degree, hold ASCP-BOC or ASCPi-BOC generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist, have a minimum of three years teaching experience, and be knowledgeable about educational methods and NAACLS accreditation procedures.
