FairLaw Firm is a boutique employment law firm located in Coral Gables, within walking distance to Merrick Park.The firm concentrates its practice on counseling and advocating for clients in employment and related matters throughout Florida from its office in Coral Gables. The firm routinely represents clients (businesses and individuals) in arbitrations, before investigative agencies, and in cases pending in the Florida state and federal courts, while also evaluating and creating employment-centric documents and materials for its clients. Role Description This is a full-time on-site role in Coral Gables, FL, for an Employment Litigation Associate. The attorney to be hired will be responsible for handling employment litigation law matters (involving unpaid/underpaid wages, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblower claims, severance, and noncompete agreements). The attorney will be expected to handle tasks independently, including evaluating potential and pending matters; developing case strategies; drafting, responding to, and arguing motions; attending hearings; preparing for, taking, and defending depositions; conducting legal research, discovery, and factual analysis; conducting mediations and case negotiations; and drafting related to cases and investigations. This role is for a detail-oriented, motivated attorney who can evaluate and litigate cases without extensive oversight. Qualifications Member in good standing of the Florida Bar Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school At least five years of experience litigating civil matters in Florida Proficient with MS Word (including shortcuts), Adobe, Zoom, working in a Mac environment Strong legal research kills Experience in Employment Litigation Excellent written and verbal advocacy skills Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team-oriented environment Well-organized and able to manage an active caseload Compensation Package Competitive salary based on experience and transferable skills Performance-based incentives Fully paid health insurance PTO Seniority level
