Job Summary
S alas O'Brien is searching for a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our New York City office.
In this role you will be at the forefront of energy technology- providing engineering design, evaluation, and planning of mechanical systems.
The candidate will have the opportunity to work on projects in a variety of market sectors, such as healthcare, science & technology, education, and commercial projects, leveraging the best control systems available.
The Sr. Mechanical Engineer Will
Develop the HVAC systems design of a given project based on the scope of work and/or client RFPs Provide engineering design, evaluation, and planning of mechanical systems for healthcare, science & technology, education, and commercial projects Perform load/energy calculations with software such as Trace 700, Manual J, and similar programs Conduct existing building surveys and documentation of existing HVAC systems Develop system design calculations and selection of equipment for use in buildings Develop HVAC sequences of operation Write/edit project specifications Conduct detailed feasibility studies Code compliance research Coordinate work with other disciplines. Provide construction administration services
You Will Be a Great Fit If
A minimum of 5-10 years of design experience PE License or on the path to getting your PE license Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
Skills/abilities
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office Familiarity with building codes, standards, and design guidelines Excellent work ethic and attitude Good communication and time management skills Interpersonal communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance, and prioritize work Ability to lead a team as well as work as part of a team Mentor junior staff
Location : New York City
Salary : $125-150K
