JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Title: Solution Architect Specialist

Location: Fully onsite, M-F in McLean VA

Direction: temp to hire

About the Role: Seeking a technically strong Solution Architect Specialist with a prior application development background and hands-on architecture experience to lead modernization efforts of legacy systems. This role requires the ability to design, build, and deliver scalable technical solutions while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders. Candidates must demonstrate depth in architecture patterns, design patterns, microservices, and enterprise-scale application design.

Must-Have Skills:

• 8–10+ years in solution architecture with prior development experience.
• Proven experience designing microservices and applying architecture/design patterns.
• Experience with tools and tech: Java 8+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS services, Apigee, Kafka.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Gradle, and security/auth frameworks (OAuth 2.0).
• Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to rationalize architectural decisions in business context.
• Prior experience with enterprise application modernization and re-platforming.
• Experience in Agile/SAFe environments.
• AIM and GenAI experience preferred (not mandatory).
• Mortgage domain knowledge is a plus.
