Role Overview:

The Registered Nurse in the Centralized Monitoring Unit (CMU) is vital for the safe and effective monitoring of nearly 300 patients' cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic status. This non-direct care position is perfect for an experienced telemetry RN who thrives in a dynamic, technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate daily activities of Central Monitor Technicians to ensure precise and timely telemetry monitoring.
• Serve as a clinical expert for rhythm interpretation, ensuring protocol compliance and telemetry best practices.
• Collaborate with the CMU Nurse Educator to deliver training and reinforce departmental policies.
• Facilitate smooth shift transitions to maintain uninterrupted patient monitoring.
• Engage in daily team huddles, contributing to ongoing unit-based initiatives.
• Act as a communication link between the CMU and inpatient clinical teams, ensuring timely updates and coordination.
• Support staffing assignments, making necessary adjustments throughout shifts.
• Drive quality improvement efforts related to telemetry monitoring and workflows.
• Mentor and coach staff in real-time situations to promote best practices and foster a collaborative environment.

Qualifications:

• BSN required; MSN preferred. One degree must be in Nursing.
• Candidates actively pursuing a BSN or MSN may be considered, with expected completion within five years.
• A minimum of one year of nursing experience, with a focus on telemetry.
• Current CT RN license required.
• Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) or equivalent preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Able to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Comfortable with clinical systems, telemetry technology, and escalation protocols.
