The primary responsibility of a Multi-Modality Technologist is to perform and produce images for any combination of two procedures with related techniques, such as CT, XR, or MRI. Essential functions include performing duties for any two imaging modalities, safely operating equipment and accessories, selecting appropriate imaging and sequences in alignment with multiple factors, knowledge in workflows, procedures, and processes of the imaging modalities, performing venipuncture, providing radiation protection, obtaining and verifying the patient clinical history and lab work, and use of POC device for lab work. Education requirements include an associate's from an ARRT accredited institute for an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program or an approved School of Ultrasound/Medical Sonography (preferred) and an Associate of Applied Science in Imaging (preferred). Licensure/certification requirements include Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (preferred), State Licensure Certification (preferred or required by the state where the job is being performed), Registration with ARRT or RDMS or CNMT (required), and required to be competent in two of the following and obtain certification within 12 months: Bone Densitometry, Breast Sonography, Radiologic Technology, Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Ultrasonography, Nuclear Medicine, Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography, Cardiac Interventional Radiography, Cardiac Sonographer, Vascular Interventional Radiography, Mammography, Vascular Sonography, Registered Vascular Technologist. Experience of one year in a healthcare environment is preferred. Training in EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR), Picture archiving communication system (PACS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and IV Contrast Administration is also preferred.
