Overview
A Dual Inspector fulfills inspection requirements of all coating and welding activities on the pipeline.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Reports directly to the Chief Inspector
2. Consults directly with the Owner, radiographer, and Contractor to reduce and eliminate welding related defects.
3. Summarizes daily activities on Owner supplied reports.
4. Witness and evaluate welding procedure qualification tests and welder qualification and record the test results on Owner supplied forms.
5. Observes welding to assure the work complies with State regulations, Standards, Codes, Specifications, and qualified welding procedures.
6. Capable of performing any inspection involving coating application and inspection
7. Able to verify manufacturer and company standards applied to coating application and evaluation.
8. Completes Owner supplied Visual Inspection Reports assigning weld numbers and location of welds by survey stationing.
9. Records weld numbers on Owner supplied weld schematic drawings.
10. Provides weld stationing per Owner's instructions.
11. Checks Welder Certification
12. Ascertain that all welds are identified and all x-ray films with weld identification and locations corresponding to a survey station are properly stored and welding record tally is accurately maintained.
13. Make sketches of spool pieces, crossings, and other special installations, indicating all dimensions, weld numbers, size of fittings, pressure rating, etc. These sketches are extremely important and shall be included in the "as-built" document.

A minimum of NACE CIP LVL II
