Provide advice on project costs, design concepts, or design changes. Document design specifications, installation instructions, and other system-related information. Verify stability, interoperability, portability, security, or scalability of system architecture. Collaborate with engineers or software developers to select appropriate design solutions, or to ensure the compatibility of system components. Evaluate current or emerging technologies to consider factors such as cost, portability, compatibility, or usability. Provide technical guidance or support for the development or troubleshooting of systems. Identify system data, hardware, or software components required to meet user needs. Provide guidelines for implementing secure systems to customers or installation teams. Monitor system operation to detect potential problems. Responsible for monitoring and testing agency backups. Serve on Agencys Disaster Recover and Business Continuity Committees Work closely with the ESCs Cyber Security Specialist to implement best practices and continuous process improvement. Experience managing Microsoft Entra (Azure AD), Intune, and Active Directory in a hybrid environment Experience managing Microsoft Exchange Experience developing and supporting MS SQL Experience with VMWare / vSphere Experience with Veeam Backup Software for data protection and recovery Experience managing Cisco networking equipment, including Meraki Wireless Experience managing Sophos Firewalls ShoreTel VOIP Familiarity with Google Admin Panel, Rapid7, and Jamf not required, but preferred Title:
NETWORK SPECIALIST Reports to:
Director, Center for Technology and Digital Learning Job Objectives: Provides expertise in enterprise-wide software and manages applications across the agency; recommends and oversees implementation of new systems/applications, data conversions, system upgrades, application integrations, customizations, and report modifications; collaborates with administrators and staff on application optimization/customization and use; and is responsible for understanding business processes and how technology enables those processes in order to develop business applications consistent with the goals and objectives of the agency. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree (in MIS, networking, or related field) Minimum of 2 years experience managing applications Evidence of strong network management principles, best practices, and security protocols Proven ability to independently troubleshoot complex network issues Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to produce comprehensive documentation Documentation of a clear criminal record Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies Note : This assignment requires a valid drivers license and access/availability of a reliable vehicle. Employees must meet all prerequisite and ongoing qualifications to be covered by the service centers insurance carrier.
