Overview
We are looking for a skilled Network Engineer to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This position offers a hybrid work environment, with most tasks performed remotely and occasional onsite responsibilities in Richmond, Virginia. The ideal candidate will excel in designing and maintaining network infrastructure, managing security protocols, and fostering vendor relationships. Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and maintain network solutions, with a primary focus on Cisco technologies. Configure and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls to ensure optimal security for the organization. Manage vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with service agreements and timely delivery of resources. Oversee telephony systems, including VoIP setups and ongoing maintenance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize network reliability and performance. Document technical changes and provide support for network updates and modifications. Apply expertise in protocols such as Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) to enhance network functionality. Utilize backup technologies to ensure data protection across the network. Perform configuration management tasks to streamline network operations. Support datacenter operations and hardware management to maintain seamless connectivity. Requirements: Hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies, including routers, switches, and ASA devices. Proficiency in configuring and maintaining Palo Alto firewalls. Familiarity with Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and other advanced networking protocols. Strong knowledge of telephony systems, especially VoIP technologies. Experience in vendor management and negotiating service contracts. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work setup, with occasional onsite requirements. Solid problem-solving skills and attention to detail when troubleshooting network issues. Understanding of backup technologies and configuration management processes.
