Join our dynamic telecommunications team as an
RF Engineer
where you'll drive wireless network optimization and RF design excellence across Southern California. This RF Engineer position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge wireless infrastructure projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional network performance.
RF Engineer Responsibilities • Provide geographic coverage for a defined Southern California market, overseeing all RF design tasks and network optimization initiatives • Collaborate closely with RF, System Performance, Real Estate, Construction, and PMO teams on portfolio and capital projects • Execute RF design projects using advanced RF planning tools and methodologies • Ensure compliance with regulatory and technical documentation requirements • Drive project completion through effective coordination with internal teams and external partners
RF Engineer Qualifications
Must-Have Skills •
4-7 years of RF engineering experience
(flexible based on candidate strength) • General familiarity with cellular network build processes and RF deployment • Proficiency in reading RFDS (Radio Frequency Design Specifications) and ZD/CDs (Zoning Documents/Construction Documents) • Strong attention to detail for regulatory compliance and technical documentation • Solid understanding of RF concepts, antenna theory, and wireless communications principles • Experience with project management tools and EME (Electromagnetic Energy) analysis tools • Outstanding interpersonal and collaboration skills
Preferred Skills • Previous experience in Telecommunication markets or similar telecommunications environment • Familiarity with Telecommunication-specific RF tools including VZAtoll and Fuze SPM/RFDS/CQ platforms • Knowledge of Southern California geography and market characteristics • Experience with RF optimization and network performance analysis
RF Engineer Education & Certifications • 4-year degree preferred (Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field) • Associate's degree (AA/AS) minimum requirement • Relevant RF or telecommunications certifications are a plus
Location Requirements
This
RF Engineer
role requires local Southern California residency and is based from our Irvine office with a hybrid 3-day schedule. The position involves regional travel within your geographic area of responsibility, with drive times potentially extending several hours. Overnight travel is not required.
