Summary:

Responsible for providing supervisor with information necessary to make sound underwriting decisions. Provides support within established performance standards. Assures all related support activities are delivered in a manner consistent with business unit customer service focus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Underwriter in the renewal and new business activities that support underwriting decisions that are consistent with department growth, profitability and within individual granted authority.
• Partners with the Senior underwriters to establish support needs (i.e., identify/gather relevant account information to quote and/or bind) for new and renewal business.
• Reviews underwriting / pricing exhibits (i.e., Account Summaries, Loss Runs, Internet Research, Rate Sheets).
• Manages/oversees account documentation (i.e., Account Clearance, Acknowledgement Letters, Underwriting Documentation, Closing Letters).
• Ensures accurate and timely servicing of accounts in accordance with Department Service Standards.
• Participates in projects/assignments as needed.
• Works with their supervising underwriter conducting quarterly audits of underwriting files to ensure accounts are written in accordance with assigned Letters of Authority.
